Privacy policy

Sonora is built so your music and your habits stay on your Mac. Here is the little data we do handle.

1. Controller

Luis Arias Rabadán, tax ID (NIF) 48932195V, address Calle Perú, 49, 41807 Espartinas (Seville), Spain (the “seller”), who sells Sonora under the trade name Na&Gon Software. Contact for any privacy matter: soporte@sonora-hifi.com.

2. What we don’t collect

Sonora does not send your library, playlists, listening history or what you play to our servers. There are no accounts, ads or usage analytics.

3. What data we handle and why

• Purchase: Paddle collects your payment and billing details as merchant of record and is an independent controller of that processing (Paddle’s policy). We receive only your email, country and transaction details, to issue your license key and support you.
• License and trial: our server stores the key, your email, the plan and its expiry, and for each activated Mac a derived identifier (an irreversible hash of your machine’s identifier), the name you gave your Mac and the date of the last check. This limits a license to 2 Macs and the trial to one per machine. Legal basis: performance of the contract.
• Email: we send the key and answer your queries through Resend (email delivery provider). Legal basis: performance of the contract and legitimate interest in supporting you.
• Technical logs: Cloudflare, which hosts the website and the license server, may temporarily log IP addresses and technical connection data for security and operation.
• Updates: when checking for new versions, Sonora downloads a public file from our website; it sends no data about you.
• Access away from home (optional): if you turn it on in Sonora for Mac, or use Sonora Connect, a small link service hosted on Cloudflare stores your Mac’s public address (IP and port) so your devices can find it. It does not receive your music or your library: the audio travels directly and encrypted between your devices.
• Optional app features: if you use features such as metadata (MusicBrainz, Wikipedia), online lyrics, AirPlay/Chromecast or access to your library away from home, your Mac connects directly to those services, which handle that data under their own policies.

4. Retention

We keep license data while it is valid and afterwards for as long as needed to handle claims and meet legal and tax obligations (invoices are kept by Paddle). Expired free trials are kept to prevent repeating them.

5. Recipients and transfers

Paddle, Cloudflare and Resend are processors or providers that may handle data outside the European Economic Area with appropriate safeguards (standard contractual clauses or other mechanisms). We do not sell or share your data with third parties for commercial purposes.

6. Your rights

You can access, rectify, erase, object to, restrict and port your data by writing to soporte@sonora-hifi.com. If you believe we haven’t handled your data properly, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es).

7. Cookies

This website uses no tracking or advertising cookies. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which involves a request to Google’s servers.
